Diving with whales =)

All the people think that my favorite pet is the cat, because before I liked to miaow…well I do not know if I liked it, but I used to do it =P. Even so, I think that the cats are pretty pets, they are loving…but they have a problem, sometimes the cats are treacherous and they can scratch and it hurts xD.
For these reasons there is another animal that I love, it is the whale!!!, but I do not like all the whales, my favorite is the blue whale =D, because there are other whales as the killer whale that is very aggressive. I think that the blue whale is so harmonious, when I see a blue whale swimming (in youtube xD) I feel so happy, but at the same time I want to cry. Besides when the blue whales submerged into the sea you can see their queues and this view is beautiful!!! Other things that I love about the blue whale are its songs; there are many studies about the whales’s song…some scientists think that it is a communication medium, and it is very moving =).
I have always wanted to see a blue whale, and I would like to go scubadiving with it =D, I think that would make me feel free, but I think that is not possible =( (for now xD). However I will travel to the south (someday =P) and I will be able to see many blue whales, and then I will be able to die happily =).

Welcome to Santiago!!(8)

Santiago is the Chile’s capital…it’s a noisy and polluted city xD, however it could be very funny. There are so many things that the tourists (and we also =P) can do for enjoying. If they want to go to parties they can go to the discotheques or pubs. If the tourists have cultural and intellectual interests they can visit many museums about history, art and archaeology of Chile. Besides there are many parks in Santiago, where the people can practice sport and other outdoor activities (if the foreigner tourists have respiratory diseases I do not suggest to practice sport in Santiago, because it has smock =P).
Well, my top five Santiago’s places to visit are:
First, I think that Santa Lucia hill is a cute place; it has many trees and different entertainments, the people visitors can “climb” to the peak, where there is a viewpoint (you can see everything Santiago from this place). Finally it has a Japanese Park that could be very romantic xD.
Second places that are necessary to know are the museums and the National Library. In these places always there are exhibitions very interesting about many topics.
If the foreigner tourists want to drink the better “earthquake” (a drink with pineapple ice cream) of Santiago, they must visit to “La Piojera”!!! it is a popular bar located near of Central Market, in this place they can have a good time with their friends.
In the fourth place, I think that before or after to go to “La Piojera” (the better option is after =P), any tourist must eat a seafood platter in the Central Market…there are different prices, but the most important is that the food is delicious!
Finally, the Parade Ground is a place interesting, because in front of it is Santiago’s Cathedral, Chile’s Post Headquarters and the Santiago’s Municipality. Besides in this place the tourist will see many pigeons xD!!

greetings!!!!

Let's go to Morrocoooo!!! =D

The country that I would like to visit is Morroco, because it always seems very nice. I have seen pictures and movies about Morroco, and the landscape is beautiful. I like the dunes and the desert, so I think that it is a good choice to visit. I do not know so much about Morroco –besides that it must be wonderful xD- but important information is that it is an Islamic country, and it is located in Africa xD.
Well, if I could visit Morroco I would visit the desert and of course I will try to know all about Morroco’s culture. I would like to go with somebody else =), because I want to make a long journey, and to make it alone must be boring =P.
I don’t know if I would like to live in Morroco, I think that I need to know it, because it’s not the same to stay in a place short time to live in this place =S. Despite the above, I think that working in Morroco as an archeologist must be fun, for this reason I don’t rule out the possibility xD.
Finally, I get excited with the idea!, I have always wanted to go to Morroco, and I hope that it happens soon xD!

The past semester =(

The last semester was very tiring because I studied a lot. I had nine subjects so I did not have time to do all the things. However I learned so many things about my discipline that are very important for my development as archaeologist. I think that the most important was the laboratory work; I had to learn to analyze pottery. I have never liked the pottery, but I think that is something that I must know how to do. I had other subjects, but I did not enjoy them; really that semester was very boring, and I hated it =P. Instead I like this semester!, it has many interesting subjects, so the things will be better!
Well, on the other side when I think about the free time I get depressed. I did not have free time in the last semester and it was horrible! In the beginner of that semester I entered to yoga, but then I did not have time to go, so I leaved it. When I leaved yoga I felt very sad, in general I was distressed, but this moment was worse. Today the things are not so bad, that horrible semester finished, I passed all the subjects and the best part is that I have free time!
I have fewer subjects in this semester, so I think that I will be many things that I had to leave in the first semester of this year. I will come back to yoga, and I hope to have free time to go out with my friends.

This is the end!!! =D

I have never liked to write about my life in internet I feel incomfortable when I must do it, for this reason I think that it was not a funny activity. I did not enjoy to publish my favourite activities or the things that I like and think, on the contrary it was very difficult, because I never know what can I say and I always count the words that I needed to finish. When I read a blog I enjoy it, but to write it, is not the same.
Although I do not like the blogs, this activity has helped me to improve my english, because I must to write every week, which makes me to practice regularly.
Well, I don't know if the blog is the better method for to learn english, but it is not so bad xD. I think that it has some disadvantages like write about myself, but it is good too, because I can practice my english without to be in a class. Besides, it is a way in that we can help us to improve our english (when we read the posts of our classmates or they read our posts, we can correct them or they can correct us). Due above and despite that I hate the blogs, I think that is a good form to practice out of class.
Finally, I will attemp to write more in a blog, because it could be funny when you accustom =P
I hope that you had enojoyed xD

The Eye of God

Maybe it sounds trite, but one of my favourite photographs is “The eye of God”, which was taken by the Hubble Spacial Telescope in 2004. There are more pictures of this that have been taken by other telescopes as the Very Large Telescope of European Southern Observatory and Wide Field Imager of chilean Observatory La Silla.

This image shows us to the Helix Nebula (also known as NGC 7293 by the scientists), which is ubicated in the constellation of “Aquarius”, it is about 700 light-years from The Earth. Helix is a planetary nebula that formed in the end of a star’s life like the sun and it was discovered by Karl Ludwig Harding before 1824 (probably).

This picture is very famous, and many people love it. I like it because when I see it I feel so small, and it makes me to think that life is so fragile, this because we could dissappear in any time like that star. On the other hand, I think it is a beatiful image, the form taken is amazing. Their colours are impressive too, justly it calls “The eye of God” and really it seems as somebody looks at us.

When I see phenomena like this I think that we don´t need science fiction to see incredible things, just enough seek in the real world. Besides, it makes me ask how many things are there that we can’t to imagine.

Well, I don’t know if this photograph is the most wonderful of the history, probably it isn’t, but I suppose that “The eye of God” is a image that nobody will forget.
I hope like it!!

Camiña =D

I love to travel, for this reason I have gone to many places, but my favourite trips had been in Chile. Our country is a beatiful place, and the anthropology has allowed that I visited many interesting sites lately.
My last travel was at Camiña and I think that it had been my better experience. Camiña is a small town ubicated in the north of Chile, in the “Primera Región de Tarapacá”, it is about five hours away by bus from Iquique. This village is localized in a ravine at about 3000 meters of high.

I did this trip with my classmates and teacher for the Andean Etnology course and we camped in a place near of Camiña. We stayed seven days in Camiña and one day in Iquique, in where we enjoyed to much too =) (when we traveled to north is a “ritual” that we stayed at least one day in Iquique =P)

Well, I think that Camiña is a special place because has a wonderfull landscape. Besides it is caracterized by to be habited for indigenous communities that belonging to the aymará etnic group. Due to the above, Camiña has many archaeological sites like petroglyphs and inka´s huacas (sacred mountains); so it was very common to find pottery fragments of different periods.

The purpose of this travel was to realize about “Corpus Christi”ceremony. This is a party that syncretizes catholic and indigenous beliefs; one family of the community organizes the festival for one year, in which there are dances, bands, lots of free food and free liquor and animal sacrifices (llamas and lambs) in order to “pay” to saints and Pachamama.

Well, I hope that you can visit to Camiña someday too!
